Jeff VanMaanen is co-owner of Equipt Fitness. Jeff opened Equipt in 2007 after working as a trainer in a large health club. Jeff is a very strong motivator and life coach, who helps clients realign their understanding of movement, and simplifies their approach to exercise and nutrition. Jeff farmed and raised cattle in Southeast Iowa for 20 years before moving to Minnesota. Jeff’s extensive work experience in farming makes him and excellent hands on instructor of proper body mechanics and muscle recruitment. Jeff believes that “motion is lotion” and that movement is the key to healthy muscles and joints. Jeff believes that it takes dedication and discipline to make lifestyle changes. He believes that positive lifestyle changes will eliminate the fear of growing older, and allow one to gain freedom from limitations.

Leslie Branham, co-owner of Equipt Fitness, has worked in the fitness industry for over 12 years, as a running coach, kettlebell instructor, personal trainer, and as a group fitness instructor. Leslie started running long distance at the age of 20, and has run more than 30 marathons, including the Boston Marathon and several 50 mile and 100 mile events. She has coached over 100 runners to the completion of a marathon. She is the creator of the HydroTrack format, a rigorous deep-water running program for individuals of any level looking for a safe way to exercise intensely. Leslie works with her clients to set realistic goals, and step by step plans to achieve them. She believes that finding a balanced lifestyle, and keeping active doing the things one enjoys, is the key to life-long happiness.
